INTRODUCTION TO NATURE JOURNALLING
Ria Kotze, owner, Blue Feather Art Business
Saturday 30 January 10.00 am– 12.00 pm COURSE FEES R230; Staff and students R115
Nature journalling is the process of recording your observations about birds, plants, trees and other natural things on paper. It’s a simple and effective tool to help sharpen one’s observation skills and reconnect with nature.
This lecture will help participants slow down and practise mindfulness by seeing, not just looking, while documenting their observations in nature. Participants will also have the opportunity to make their own journal. They will be guided outside, receiving tips and tricks of how to practise recording sightings and, for instance, learn simple techniques to identify birds by their shapes. No prior experience or special skills are needed, just curiosity and a love of nature.
